Tour highlights
Broken Hill
Your adventure begins and ends in the heritage mining city of Broken Hill. Arrive, settle in and soak up the art galleries, historic pubs and desert horizons before heading deeper into the outback.
Mutawintji National Park
Journey into Mutawintji, home to some of the most significant Aboriginal rock art in Australia. Walk through rugged gorges, see ancient engravings and paintings, and hear the stories that bring this Country to life.
Warrawong on the Darling & Menindee Lakes
Spend a night by the billabong at Warrawong on the Darling near Wilcannia, then explore the wildlife‑rich wetlands of Menindee Lakes and Kinchega National Park. Think pelicans on mirrored water, red gums against a big outback sky, and the history of riverboats and pastoral life.
Bindara Station
Enjoy an outback pub lunch before arriving at Bindara Station, renowned for its warm hospitality, big open horizons and sunsets over the river. This is classic station‑stay country: campfires, stars and stories.
Willandra Lakes & Mungo National Park
Travel through the Willandra Lakes World Heritage Area and on to Mungo National Park for a memorable two‑night stay at remote Mungo Lodge. Here you’ll:
Stand on the ancient lakebeds where evidence of Aboriginal life dates back over 36,000 years
See the famous “Walls of China” lunettes, sculpted by wind and time
Learn about the deep cultural significance and fragile beauty of this landscape
Perry Sandhills & the Murray–Darling confluence
On the homeward leg, visit the striking Perry Sandhills near Wentworth and witness the meeting of the Murray and Darling rivers – a powerful vantage point on the waterways that shaped inland Australia – before returning to Broken Hill for a final night.
